The Xiahe River is the mother river of Jinzhong and the second-largest tributary of the Fen River. In recent years, the Jinzhong Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have vigorously implemented the construction project of the Xiahe Ecological Industrial Zone, laying out three major areas from east to west: ecological conservation, cultural creativity and tourism, and urban functional expansion, aiming to create an international first-class cultural and creative industry base, the most distinctive water-friendly home in northern China, the most convenient tourist residence in Shanxi, and the highest quality industrial new area in the comprehensive reform demonstration zone. Currently, the construction of the Xiahe Ecological Industrial Zone has achieved significant results. The overall planning area of the China · Xiahe Art Town in the cultural creativity and tourism zone includes an 18.5-kilometer riverside area in the Xiahe urban section, covering an area of 506.43 hectares, and is planned and constructed as a 5A-level scenic area, with a total investment of 20 billion yuan, focusing on creating the core landscape of "a jade belt, three arks, and fifteen tribes."
The performance of "Seeking Dreams in Lotus Bay" is unprecedented. The program consists of a total of nine performance sections, including light shows, dance, acrobatics, fountains, and high-tech sound and light systems. The program sings of nature, life, and home, expressing people's yearning for a better life in the new era and promoting the excellent cultural traditions of the Chinese nation. Artistically, it adheres to the principles of seeking truth, goodness, and beauty, using an innovative multi-stage mobile performance format, modern rotating stage machinery, high-tech fountain technology, and sound and light technology to create a world-first outdoor dynamic performance and artistic variety, offering audiences a different visual experience and spiritual shock. In this unique viewing experience, the audience gains a new feeling of "seeing the ridge from the side and the peak from the front, each different in distance and height" from different positions.
The entire sound reinforcement system for "Seeking Dreams in Lotus Bay" uses more than 200 weatherproof jazz speakers, distributed across seven viewing areas, VIP areas, and performance areas. To achieve independent control of multiple zones, the control console employs a YAMAHA CL5 digital mixing console, combined with the Qlab multi-track audio playback system and LTC time code for comprehensive synchronization control of lighting, video, fountains, etc.
The entire venue is circular, with a diameter of about 250 meters, featuring seven viewing areas. The signal transmission adopts a dual backup Dante transmission method, combined with optical network switches for long-distance transmission and control, ensuring the stable and normalized operation of the system.

The theme is "Hand in Hand with a Thousand Hands, Seeking Dreams in Lianhua," created with great care by the renowned artist Zhang Jigang and his team. The music, staging, direction, and other elements adhere to a new concept and stand at the forefront of domestic art. This performance will provide the audience with a light, dreamlike, magical, and splendid journey, allowing them to engage in a soulful dialogue with art. According to Liu Junchen, production manager of the Xiahe project, Lianhua Bay Square, located in the heart of China's Xiahe Cultural Art Town, has a total investment of 400 million yuan. Surrounding areas will feature vibrant lighting nightscapes, a street food market, and the "Mole Optical Internet Celebrity Bridge." Additionally, a 3-kilometer original ecological forest and supporting facilities such as tennis courts and football fields will be constructed. Once completed, it will form a core scenic area comprising a hall, a vast gallery, a stretch of beautiful water, and thousands of lotus flowers. The Xiahe Cultural Art Town project follows the provincial government's goal of promoting the construction of an all-encompassing tourism demonstration zone, relying on the three major cultural tourism development sectors of the "Yellow River, Taihang Mountains, and Great Wall." Along the 18.5 kilometers section of Xiahe in the urban area, the total investment will reach 20 billion yuan. The project is planned as a 5A-level scenic area with the overall layout of "one jade belt, three arks, eight pearls, and ten tribes," aiming to achieve a combination of artistic quality appreciated by both high and low tastes, with ecological comprehensive benefits.
After the premiere on August 7, the "Dream Seeking in Lianhua Bay" performance will transition to regular performances. From August 8 to October 8, there will be 3 to 5 shows each week, accommodating 3,200 spectators at a time. Through several years of restoration and renovation, significant changes have addressed the serious accumulation of silt, absence of embankments, ecological destruction, and random dumping that plagued Xiahe for years. This has resulted in the protection of biodiversity, improved river and environmental conditions, water source conservation, water quality purification, soil and water retention, and regulation of the urban microclimate, yielding good ecological benefits. Currently, the protection measures cover a 5-kilometer area along both sides of the river, marking a new stage in the comprehensive protection, scientific restoration, rational utilization, and sustainable development of Xiahe.
Xiahe originates from the Madai Ridge in Xiyang, spanning 147 kilometers with a watershed area of 3,900 square kilometers, flowing through Shouyang, Yuci, and Qingxu before finally merging into the Fen River. The urban section of Jinzhong is the golden basin where Xiahe enters the Fen, with an approximate length of 49 kilometers.
